Some wild Pokémon can hold Berries. If the player captures the Pokémon, or uses Thief, Covet, Trick, or Switcheroo, they can obtain the item. The list of wild Pokémon with held Berries is as follows:
The wild Pokémon that can appear in Altering Cave are specifically coded to have a 5% chance of holding rare Berries, regardless of what their regular encounter data is. Their held Berries are as follows:
Random people in some areas of the overworld will give away Berries when spoken to. Most of them will give away Berries once a day. Their locations, and possible Berries, are listed below.
In Emerald, the Seedot that the player can receive in a trade in Rustboro City holds a Chesto Berry.
