The Vs. Seeker can be used in this area to rematch Trainers.

Utility:
Rock Climb is required to access a Dawn Stone and Dragon Tamer Geoffrey. In Diamond and Pearl, it is also required to access an HP Up. In Platinum, it is also required to access a Razor Fang.
Cut is required to access a Rare Candy, a Lax Incense, and the Berries in the Berry soil.
Surf is required to access a Dubious Disc. Wild Pokémon can also be encountered here with Surf.
