The original Nintendo 64 release of this game is compatible with (Japanese) copies of the Game Boy games Red, Green, Blue, and Yellow, and Pokémon from those games can be used in battles in Pokémon Stadium 0. Completing challenges can reward the player with bonuses that can be transferred back to a connected Game Boy game. This page shows the rewards that can be obtained.
If the player completes the Master Ball division of the Level 1-30 Division Tournament with a Pikachu in their party, Surf can be taught to Pikachu. In Yellow, a Surfing Pikachu can be used to play a minigame on Route 19.
