How Many Pokémon Can You Get with Only Pokémon FireRed?

FireRed has two separate Pokédexes to complete: the Kanto Pokédex and the National Pokédex. The Kanto Pokédex corresponds to the Dex in the original Red, Green, Blue, and Yellow games (Pokémon 1-150 plus Mew), while the National Pokédex consists of the Kanto Pokédex plus the Pokémon introduced in Gold, Silver, & Crystal and Ruby, Sapphire, & Emerald (Pokémon 152-386). All Pokémon from the Kanto Pokédex, except for the event-exclusive Mew, are available between both FireRed and LeafGreen. Only a select few Pokémon from the National Pokédex are available in FireRed and LeafGreen. This page will cover both the Kanto and National Pokédexes.

The number of Kanto Pokédex Pokémon available without trading is 125. Three of these are only available by using the Breeding mechanic, which only becomes available after defeating the Elite Four. The list of Pokémon you cannot get without trading, which equals 26 species, is as follows:

Two Starters (6) - 6 total
As you can only select one starter Pokémon, the other two starters, and their evolutions, are unavailable; this totals 6 Pokémon.
Trade Evolutions (4) - 10 total
Golem, Machamp, Alakazam, and Gengar evolve by trade. Without the ability to trade, they are unobtainable.
One Fossil Pokémon (2) - 12 total
As you can only obtain one Fossil in Mt. Moon, you miss out on the other Fossil Pokémon (Omanyte or Kabuto) and its evolution.
Version Exclusives (13) - 25 total
The following Pokémon cannot be obtained without the use of glitches or trading: Sandshrew, Sandslash, Bellsprout, Weepinbell, Victreebel, Vulpix, Ninetales, Slowpoke, Slowbro, Staryu, Starmie, Pinsir, and Magmar.
Mythical/Event (1) - 26 total
Outside of glitches, Mew was only obtainable via events that are no longer active.

The number of National Pokédex Pokémon available without trading is 170. The list of available National Pokédex Pokémon that aren't in the Kanto Pokédex is as follows:
Blissey, Crobat, Slugma, Magcargo, Dunsparce, Tyrogue, Hitmontop, Pichu, Cleffa, Igglybuff, Smoochum, Elekid, Wooper, Quagsire, Swinub, Piloswine, Delibird, Sentret, Furret, Hoppip, Skiploom, Jumpluff, Qwilfish, Togepi, Togetic, Murkrow, Natu, Xatu, Yanma, Wobbuffet, Wynaut, Bellossom, Heracross, Spinarak, Ariados, Ledyba, Ledian, Phanpy, Donphan, Larvitar, Pupitar, Tyranitar, Skarmory, Unown, and one of Raikou, Entei, or Suicune

Note that although Kingdra, Steelix, Scizor, Politoed, and Porygon2 are in the National Pokédex, they cannot be obtained without trading.

The Professor Oak challenge guide for FireRed, which covers the National Pokédex, can be found here, although I've made a shorter list of encounters below in case anything happens to the external guide.
