How Many Pokémon Can You Get Without Evolving or Breeding in Pokémon FireRed?

FireRed has two separate Pokédexes to complete: the Kanto Pokédex and the National Pokédex. The Kanto Pokédex corresponds to the Dex in the original Red, Green, Blue, and Yellow games (Pokémon 1-150 plus Mew), while the National Pokédex consists of the Kanto Pokédex plus the Pokémon introduced in Gold, Silver, & Crystal and Ruby, Sapphire, & Emerald (Pokémon 152-386). All Pokémon from the Kanto Pokédex, except for the event-exclusive Mew, are available between both FireRed and LeafGreen. Only a select few Pokémon from the National Pokédex are available in FireRed and LeafGreen. This page will cover both the Kanto and National Pokédexes.

The player can get up to 125 species total in the Kanto Pokédex and 170 in the National Pokédex in FireRed without trading, as described here. Without evolving or breeding any Pokémon, and only collecting evolutionary stages that the player can get in the wild, as a gift or purchase, or from an in-game trade, the player can get up to 100 species in the Kanto Pokédex and 143 in the National Pokédex.
