Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness
Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness was released in 2005 for the Nintendo GameCube and re-released for Nintendo Switch 2 Online via the Nintendo Classics - GameCube application in March 2026.
Unlike Pokémon Colosseum, the game only contains Story Mode, where the player can play through a story set in the Orre region and capture a total of 97 Pokémon (not counting their evolutions). The Orre Colosseum that can be found in Story Mode now houses a challenge similar to those from the Colosseums in Battle Mode of Pokémon Colosseum.
The original GameCube release of the game remains the only way that a player trying to complete the National Dex in any cartridge Generation 3 game can obtain Lugia. (The FireRed and LeafGreen re-releases for Switch provide free access to Navel Rock.)
The original GameCube release is able to communicate with cartridge copies of Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, FireRed, and LeafGreen with a proprietary link cable. The Switch 2 re-release is not able to communicate with any other game.
