Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness
Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness was originally released in 2005 for the Nintendo GameCube.
Unlike Pokémon Colosseum, this game contains only Story Mode, where the player can play through a story set in the Orre region and capture a total of 97 Pokémon (not counting their evolutions). The Orre Colosseum that can be found in Story Mode now houses a challenge similar to those from the Colosseums in Battle Mode of Pokémon Colosseum.
The original GameCube release is able to communicate with the Game Boy Advance games Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, FireRed, and LeafGreen using a GameBoy Advance to GameCube Link Cable. This release remains the only way to obtain Lugia on a Game Boy Advance or GameCube game without access to an event distribution.
In March 2026, XD: Gale of Darkness was rereleased for Nintendo Switch 2 as part of the Nintendo Classics program on Nintendo Switch Online. Unlike the original release, this version is not capable of communicating with any other Pokémon game.
