Orre Duo (Colosseum & XD: Gale of Darkness)

The two Orre games, Colosseum and XD: Gale of Darkness, are a duo of games released for the Nintendo GameCube between 2003 and 2005. Both are set in the Orre region, and XD is explicitly stated to be a sequel to Colosseum. Both games also revolve around Double Battles and the mechaninc of Shadow Pokémon. The original GameCube releases are able to communicate with the Game Boy Advance games (Ruby, Sapphire, & Emerald and FireRed & LeafGreen) using a Game Boy Advance to GameCube Link Cable, allowing the Pokémon that can be captured in these games to be transferred to a "main series" game, or vice versa.

XD: Gale of Darkness was rereleased for the Nintendo Switch 2 as part of the Nintendo Classics program on Nintendo Switch Online in March 2026. Unlike the original release, this version is not capable of communicating with any other Pokémon game.

The following games are part of the series:

• Colosseum: This game was released in 2003 in Japan and 2004 internationally. The player can obtain 52 Pokémon (not counting the evolutions of some of these), with a handful of others having been obtainable via the Bonus Disc (given away with pre-ordered copies) and some e-Reader events. The original GameCube release was the only way to obtain Ho-Oh on a Game Boy Advance or GameCube game without access to an event distribution.
• XD: Gale of Darkness: This game was released in 2005 and rereleased for the Switch 2 in 2026. The player can obtain 100 Pokémon (not counting the evolutions of some of these). The original GameCube release was the only way to obtain Lugia on a Game Boy Advance or GameCube game without access to an event distribution.
