This page contains information about the 61 Quests that can be taken in Shadows of Almia, including the location, requirements, and rewards for each quest. Use the box below to jump to a particular quest.
Although there are 61 available Quests, the player will only ever complete 60 of them. This is because three of them are intended to give the player partner Pachirisu, Starly, and Munchlax, and the player will always have picked one of these as their Partner at the beginning of the game, so the player will not be offered the Quest corresponding to that Pokémon.
The Quests here are ordered according to when they appear to be taken by the player.
This Quest can be received from Little Tim at the Ranger Base in Vientown after completing Mission 2: Investigate the Marine Cave!. The player must complete this Quest to progress the game.
To complete this Quest, the player must capture Little Tim's Miltank.
The reward for completing this quest is the Grass Defense 1.
This Quest can be received from a Little Girl outside the northeastern house in Chicole Village after completing Calm Down Miltank.
To complete this Quest, the player must go to the bridge west of the Ranger School and see a Floatzel there.
The reward for completing this Quest is the Water Defense 1.
This Quest can be received from an Old Woman near the eastern exit to Vientown after completing Mission 3: Fight the Vien Forest Fire!.
To complete this Quest, the player must capture a Combee and bring it to the Old Woman. Combee can be found in Vien Forest or Chroma Road.
The reward for completing this Quest is the Electric Defense 1.
This Quest can be received from an Mr. Woodward in the southwestern house in Vientown after completing Mission 3: Fight the Vien Forest Fire!.
To complete this Quest, the player must clear two Fallen Logs in Vien Forest.

This Quest can be received from a Boy in the northern part of Vientown after completing Mission 3: Fight the Vien Forest Fire!.
To complete this Quest, the player must clear two Wooden Crates on Nabiki Beach.
The reward for completing this Quest is the Normal Defense 1.
This Quest can be received from a Man in the part of Vien Forest south of Pueltown after driving off Team Dim Sun during Mission 4: Destroy the Strange Machines!.
To complete this Quest, the player must clear two Crates deeper in Vien Forest.
The reward for completing this Quest is the Bug Defense 1.
This Quest can be received from Webster near the southern exit to Vientown after reuniting Ollie with his mom.
To complete this Quest, the player must clear a Rock on Nabiki Beach south of Breeze Hill.
The reward for completing this Quest is the Dark Defense 1.
This Quest can be received from a Young Guy near the southern exit to Vien Forest after reuniting Ollie with his mom.
To complete this Quest, the player must capture Cranidos and Wartortle in the dead-end with the tree west of the Young Guy that gives the player this Quest.
The reward for completing this Quest is the captured Cranidos, who joins the player as a potential Partner Pokémon.
This Quest can be received from the Fishing Kid on the southeastern dock in Pueltown after first visiting the Ranger Union.
To complete this Quest, the player must capture Lumineon in the Puel Sea. It is located in the area with the currents where the player captured Sharpedo during Mission 5: Recover a Key from Sharpedo!.
The reward for completing this Quest is the Rock Defense 1. Completing this quest also allows the player to later take Unidentified Fleeing Omastar.
This Quest can be received from the Old Man west of the Ranger Depot in Pueltown after first visiting the Ranger Union.
To complete this Quest, the player must capture an Eevee in the easternmost part of Pueltown, near where the ledge is that allows the player to jump from the higher level of the dock.
The reward for completing this Quest is the Steel Defense 1.
This Quest can be received from Brook south of the bridge in Altru Park after first visiting the Ranger Union.
To complete this Quest, the player must visit Brook's mother. She is in the eastern part of Pueltown, in the eastern house north of the fountain.
The reward for completing this Quest is the Flying Defense 1.
This Quest can be received from a Man in the western part of Pueltown after learning how to ride Doduo.
To complete this Quest, the player must capture a Nosepass and bring it to the Man. Nosepass can only be found in the Marine Cave.
The reward for completing this Quest is the Ground Defense 1.
This Quest can be received from a Man in the area two screens north of Vien Forest after learning how to ride Doduo.
To complete this Quest, the player must capture a Ambipom in the screen to the west and bring it to the Man.
The reward for completing this Quest is the Power Plus A.
This Quest can be received from Herbert on the bridge in Altru Park after learning how to ride Doduo.
To complete this Quest, the player must capture an Oddish and bring it to Herbert. Oddish can only be found on Union Road.
The reward for completing this Quest is the Fire Defense 1. Completing this quest also allows the player to later take Abomasnow Research.
This Quest can be received from a Little Boy in front of the northeastern house in Chicole Village after learning how to ride Doduo.
To complete this Quest, the player must capture Turtwig on the northern cliff of Breeze Hill in Vientown.
The reward for completing this Quest is the captured Turtwig, who joins the player as a potential Partner Pokémon.
This Quest can be received from Janice on the top floor of the Ranger School after receiving Mission 9: Support Sven at the Ruins!
To complete this Quest, the player must clear three piles of Fallen Leaves at the Ranger School in the main yard.
The reward for completing this Quest is the Time Assist A.
This Quest can be received from Nectar Victoria near the pond on Union Road after receiving Mission 9: Support Sven at the Ruins!
To complete this Quest, the player must capture a Cherrim and bring it to Nectar Victoria. Cherrim can only be found on Peril Cliffs.
The reward for completing this Quest is the Ghost Defense 1.
This Quest can be received from the Elder's Granddaughter in the southwestern house in Boyleland after receiving Mission 9: Support Sven at the Ruins!
To complete this Quest, the player must speak to the Team Dim Sun member at the hidden harbor in the deepest part of Volcano Cave.
The reward for completing this Quest is the Recovery A. Completing this quest also allows the player to later take Secure the Hidden Harbor.
This Quest can be received from Oscar near the entrance to Volcano Cave in Boyleland after receiving Mission 9: Support Sven at the Ruins!
To complete this Quest, the player must capture a Muk and bring it to Oscar. Muk can only be found in the western part of Volcano Cave.
The reward for completing this Quest is the Poison Defense 1. Completing this quest also allows the player to later take Smell of Skuntank and Weezing.
This Quest can be received from a Boy on Union Road after receiving Mission 9: Support Sven at the Ruins!
To complete this Quest, the player must capture a Shieldon on the northeastern screen of the Peril Cliffs.
The reward for completing this Quest is the captured Shieldon, who joins the player as a potential Partner Pokémon.
This Quest can be received from the player's Dad on the farm in Chicole Village after receiving Mission 9: Support Sven at the Ruins!
To complete this Quest, the player must meet Reporter Hans outside the Altru Building in Altru Park, speak to him, and return to the player's Dad.
The reward for completing this Quest is the Psychic Defense 1.
This Quest can be received from a Lady on the overpass across the main area of Pueltown after completing Mission 9: Support Sven at the Ruins!
To complete this Quest, the player must capture two Murkrow in Pueltown. One is located in the northeastern part of the eastern area, south of Isaac's house, and the other is on the roof of the southwestern apartment complex in the western area.
The reward for completing this Quest is the Ice Defense 1.
This Quest can be received on Union Road from the Jam-maker in the cabin south of the entrance to the Peril Cliffs after completing Mission 9: Support Sven at the Ruins!
To complete this Quest, the player must capture two Combee and a Vespiquen near the northernmost tree on the first screen of Chroma Road.
The reward for completing this Quest is the Energy Plus.
This Quest can be received from the Explorer on Chroma Road next to the entrance to Chroma Highlands after completing Mission 9: Support Sven at the Ruins!
To complete this Quest, the player must capture a Chimchar and two Beedrill in the Chroma Highlands.
The reward for completing this Quest is the captured Chimchar, who joins the player as a potential Partner Pokémon.
This Quest can be received from the Lady in the western area of Pueltown after completing Mission 10: Get the Blue Gem!
To complete this Quest, the player must capture a Chingling and bring it to the Lady. Chingling can only be found in Crysta Cave.
The reward for completing this Quest is the Dragon Defense 1.
This Quest can be received from Herbert in the northwest corner of Shiver Camp after completing Mission 10: Get the Blue Gem! and Oddish Research.
To complete this Quest, the player must capture an Abomasnow and bring it to Herbert. Abomasnow can only be found at the Ice Lake.
The reward for completing this Quest is the Fighting Defense 1. Completing this quest also allows the player to later take Cacturne Research.
This Quest can be received from Pamur in the northernmost hut in Shiver Camp after completing Mission 10: Get the Blue Gem!
To complete this Quest, the player must clear three blocks of Solid Ice in Crysta Cave.
The reward for completing this Quest is the Water Defense 2. Completing this quest also allows the player to later take Murph's Disappearing Act.
This Quest can be received from a Research Team Member near the entrance to the Ice Lake in Hia Valley after completing Mission 10: Get the Blue Gem!
To complete this Quest, the player must capture a Piplup and Houndoom in the southwestern part of Hia Valley.
The reward for completing this Quest is the captured Piplup, who joins the player as a potential Partner Pokémon.
This Quest can be received from an Old Man in the eastern part of Pueltown after completing Mission 11: Get the Red Gem!
To complete this Quest, the player must capture three Drifblim and bring them to the Old Man. Drifblim can be found in Chroma Ruins, the eastern side of Volcano Cave, and Hippowdon Temple.
The reward for completing this Quest is the Power Plus B.
This Quest can be received from the Fishing Guide in the southwestern house in Boyleland after completing Mission 11: Get the Red Gem! and Team Dim Sun's Appetite.
To complete this Quest, the player must clear two Fiery Walls in the western part of Volcano Cave.
The reward for completing this Quest is the Fire Defense 2. Completing this quest also allows the player to later take Snow in Boyleland.
This Quest can be received from a Research Team Member southwest of the entrance to Ice Lake in Hia Valley after completing Mission 11: Get the Red Gem!
To complete this Quest, the player must clear an Ice Wall in front of the western hut at the Shiver Camp.
The reward for completing this Quest is the Normal Defense 2.
This Quest can be received from the Explorer just inside the western entrance to Volcano Cave after completing Mission 11: Get the Red Gem!
To complete this Quest, the player must capture a Snover in the eastern part of Volcano Cave.
The reward for completing this Quest is the captured Snover, who joins the player as a potential Partner Pokémon.
This Quest can be received from the Angler on the southeastern dock in Pueltown after completing Mission 14: Get the Yellow Gem! and The Boy Who Cried Lumineon.
To complete this Quest, the player must capture an Omastar in the Sea of Wailord.

This Quest can be received from Herbert south of the muddy oasis in Haruba Village after completing Mission 14: Get the Yellow Gem! and Abomasnow Research.
To complete this Quest, the player must capture a Cacturne and bring it to Herbert. Cacturne can only be found in the Haruba Desert.
The reward for completing this Quest is the Grass Defense 2.
This Quest can be received from Mrs. Winter in her cabin in Hia Valley after completing Mission 14: Get the Yellow Gem!
To complete this Quest, the player must capture a Sneasel on the second floor of Almia Castle.
The reward for completing this Quest is the captured Sneasel, who joins the player as a potential Partner Pokémon. Completing this quest also allows the player to later take Access the Ice Castle.
This Quest can be received from an Explorer at the Chroma Highlands after completing Mission 14: Get the Yellow Gem!
To complete this Quest, the player must capture Misdreavus in Chroma Ruins.
The reward for completing this Quest is the captured Misdreavus, who joins the player as a potential Partner Pokémon.
This Quest can be received from the Angler in Pueltown after completing Mission 15: Protect the Ranger Union HQ!.
To complete this Quest, the player must retrieve the Angler's fishing rod in the Sea of Wailord.
The reward for completing this Quest is the Psychic Defense 2.
This Quest can be received from Oscar northwest of the Ranger Depot in Haruba Village after completing Mission 15: Protect the Ranger Union HQ! and That Smell of Muk....
To complete this Quest, the player must capture a Skuntank and Weezing and bring them both to Oscar. Skuntank can be only found at the Oil Field Hideout, and Weezing can only be found in Almia Castle.
The reward for completing this Quest is the Dark Defense 2.
This Quest can be received from Henry in Haruba Village after completing Mission 15: Protect the Ranger Union HQ!.
To complete this Quest, the player must investigate the Hippowdon Temple and find the room with Claydol, south of the room with the spring plants.
The reward for completing this Quest is the Ghost Defense 2.
This Quest can be received from Ollie in Vientown next to the Ranger Base after completing Mission 15: Protect the Ranger Union HQ!.
To complete this Quest, the player must capture a Dragonair and bring it to Ollie. Dragonair can only be found in Almia Castle, in the room with the Dratini.
The reward for completing this Quest is the Combo Bonus.
This Quest can be received from Murph in the Reference Room in the Ranger Union after completing Mission 16: Execute Operation Brighton!.
To complete this Quest, the player must bring Murph the seven Eeveelutions (Vaporeon, Jolteon, Flareon, Espeon, Umbreon, Leafeon, and Glaceon) at one time. Because the player's maximum friend Pokémon is seven, this means the player must be careful to get Eeveelutions that require Field Moves from other Pokémon earlier. Try the following order:

To complete this Quest, the player must capture a Roserade and bring it to Rhythmi. Roserade can only be found in Vien Forest.
The reward for completing this Quest is the Bug Defense 2.
This Quest can be received from Nage in the Research Room in the Ranger Union after completing Mission 16: Execute Operation Brighton!.
To complete this Quest, the player must capture a Raichu, Luxray, and Ampharos and bring them all to Nage. Raichu can be found at the Ice Lake, in Almia Castle, and in Volcano Cave. Luxray can only be found at the Oil Field Hideout. Ampharos can be found in Altru Building and on Altru Tower.
The reward for completing this Quest is the Electric Defense 2.
This Quest can be received from Mrs. Winter in her cabin in Hia Valley after completing Mission 16: Execute Operation Brighton! and Mischievous Sneasel.
To complete this Quest, the player must clear three blocks of Solid Ice on Ice Lake in front of Almia Castle.
The reward for completing this Quest is the Flying Defense 2.
This Quest can be received from a Girl in Altru Park west of the entrance to Chroma Road after completing Mission 16: Execute Operation Brighton!.
To complete this Quest, the player must capture a Togekiss and bring it to the Girl. Togekiss can only be found on top of Altru Tower.
The reward for completing this Quest is the Poison Defense 2.
This Quest can be received from Ms. April in the Staff Room in the Ranger School after completing Mission 16: Execute Operation Brighton!. It is only available if the player did not pick Pachirisu as their first Partner Pokémon.

This Quest can be received from the player's Little Sis in their house in Chicole Village after completing Mission 16: Execute Operation Brighton!. It is only available if the player did not pick Munchlax as their first Partner Pokémon.
To complete this Quest, the player must capture a Munchlax in their bedroom.
The reward for completing this Quest is the captured Munchlax, who joins the player as a potential Partner Pokémon. Completing this quest also allows the player to later take Mom's Recipe.
This Quest can be received from the player's Mom in their house in Chicole Village after completing Mission 16: Execute Operation Brighton! and Things That Go Bump....
To complete this Quest, the player must interact with the fridge in their house to read their mother a recipe.
The reward for completing this Quest is the Fighting Defense 2.
This Quest can be received from the Explorer next to the entrance to Hippowdon Temple in Haruba Desert after completing Mission 16: Execute Operation Brighton!. It is only available if the player did not pick Starly as their first Partner Pokémon.
To complete this Quest, the player must capture a Starly in the room with the arrow paths in Hippowdon Temple. The player must use the path in the top left to surprise Starly from behind when it is in the area near the room's southern entrance.

To complete this Quest, the player must capture a Machop on the Peril Cliffs.

To complete this Quest, the player must move the Pledge Stone in Ascension Square and read the diary in the secret room.

To complete this Quest, the player must capture a Glalie and Froslass and bring them to the Elder's Granddaughter. Glalie and Froslass can only be found in Almia Castle.

This Quest can be received from Big Bertha in her farmhouse in Vientown after completing Mission 16: Execute Operation Brighton!.
To complete this Quest, the player must capture a Slakoth and bring it to Big Bertha. Slakoth can only be found at the Ranger School.

To complete this Quest, the player must first speak with Mrs. Winter in her cabin in Hia Valley, and then find Murph in the deepest part of Almia Castle.

To complete this Quest, the player must capture Chatot, Kricketune, Chingling, and Jigglypuff and bring them to Melody. Chatot can only be found in Pueltown. Kricketune can only be found in Vien Forest. Chingling and Jigglypuff can only be found in Crysta Cave.
The reward for completing this Quest is the Long Line B.
This Quest can be received from Ponte in the Halls' old house in Chroma Highlands after completing Mission 16: Execute Operation Brighton!.
To complete this Quest, the player must capture a Probopass and bring it to Ponte. Probopass can only be found in the Chroma Ruins.
The reward for completing this Quest is the Rock Defense 2.
This Quest can be received from Ollie's Mom in the southeast house in Chicole Village after completing all of the other Quests.
