Pokémon Battle Revolution
Pokémon Battle Revolution was released in 2006 (Japan) and 2007-2008 (international) for the Nintendo Wii. It does not carry the Pokémon Stadium title, but it nonetheless functions similarly: the player can participate in several different challenges using either rental Pokémon or Pokémon from a connected DS game.
In this game, the player can use Pokémon from their copies of the Nintendo DS games Diamond, Pearl, Platinum, HeartGold, or SoulSilver to battle other human players or computer-controlled opponents. There are also rental Pokémon that the player can use, but their stats and movesets are usually inferior to those that could be created from a copy of one of the DS games. It is possible to beat all the colosseums on Rank 1 with rentals, but I am not presently sure if all ranks can be beaten this way; while some YouTube videos purport to have done so, I think more research may be needed.
In addition to battling, the player can also transfer prize Pokémon awarded to the player in Battle Revolution to their DS game.
All 493 Pokémon available in Diamond, Pearl, Platinum, HeartGold, and SoulSilver can be used in this game, but not every species can be used in every colosseum. Details are given on the individual colosseums' pages. The game was released prior to Platinum, meaning Giratina's Origin Forme, Shaymin's Sky Forme, any of Rotom's appliance form (and the special moves they allow Rotom to know), and Spiky-eared Pichu will default to the base form of that species when used.
