Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire Home
Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire were released for the Nintendo 3DS in November 2014. They are remakes of Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald. They are compatible with each other, as well as X and Y, also for the Nintendo 3DS. This game can communicate with the 3DS application Pokémon Bank, which allows it to receive Pokémon from any Game Boy Advance, GameCube, or Nintendo DS game. Using Pokémon Bank, Pokémon can be sent to Pokémon HOME on the Nintendo Switch, allowing them to then be transferred into any compatible Switch game. Pokémon transferred to HOME this way cannot be returned to Omega Ruby or Alpha Sapphire.
The first 721 Pokémon are all programmed into the game. Between Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, the player can access 211 Pokémon that are part of the Hoenn Dex. Many Pokémon from other generations can be obtained late in the game and after defeating the Elite Four. Pokémon that are missing from these games can be traded in from X or Y, or transferred from any previous Game Boy Advance, GameCube, or Nintendo DS game.
